Accounts Receivable / Accounts Payable Clerk
Location: Cranford, NJ
Pay Rate: $24.00 per hour
Schedule: Monday - Friday | 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

A well-established distribution company is seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Receivable / Accounts Payable Clerk to join its accounting team. This is an excellent opportunity for an organized accounting professional who enjoys working with numbers, maintaining accurate financial records, and supporting day-to-day accounting operations.
The ideal candidate has 2+ years of accounting experience, is highly organized, computer savvy, and takes pride in producing accurate work.
Responsibilities
Process accounts payable invoices accurately and in a timely manner
Manage accounts receivable, including invoicing, payment posting, and account reconciliation
Review invoices for accuracy and resolve discrepancies
Reconcile vendor statements and customer accounts
Maintain accurate financial records and documentation
Assist with collections and follow up on outstanding customer balances
Prepare reports and assist with month-end accounting activities
Enter accounting data into the company's ERP/accounting system
Communicate professionally with vendors, customers, and internal departments
Perform general administrative and accounting support duties as assigned
Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of Accounts Receivable and/or Accounts Payable experience
Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
Computer savvy with the ability to quickly learn new software systems
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office
Experience with ERP or accounting software preferred
Strong data entry skills with a high level of accuracy
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines
Dependable with a strong work ethic and positive attitude
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in a wholesale, distribution, manufacturing, or warehouse environment
Experience using ERP or accounting software
Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is a plus but not required
