Fabricator, Body/Finishing

JR Motorsports, a leading NASCAR Motorsports operation, is seeing a Body/Finishing Fabricator with the ability to utilizes fabrication skills to work on crush panels, windows, duct work, composite body panel mounting, and quality finished fabrication. Tools typically utilized are sheers, saws, punches, bead roller, belt sander, English wheel, torches, drills and brakes. Responsible for learning various areas of the car components and improving fabrication skills. Able to provide leadership and support to co-workers utilizing knowledge and experience.

Essential Functions Statement(s)

• Weld components in flat, vertical, and overhead positions.
• Clamp, hold, tack-weld, heat-bend, grind and/or bolt component parts required for welding.
• Evaluates fabricated components for fit and feel and provides feedback to lower levels
• Use patterns and templates to trace out shapes and cut out parts and pieces.
• Cut metal plates and structural shapes to dimensions.
• Assemble parts and pieces using rivets and various fasteners.
• Utilizes various metal working hand tools, such as die grinders, cut off wheels, steppers, and tin snips to fabricate race car body components and perform assigned body fabrication work.
• Utilizes metal working shop equipment, such as sheet metal brakes, power shears, grinders, and the band saw to perform assigned body fabrication work.
• Utilizes advanced MIG welding to fabricate a wide variety of assigned components and race car related details
• Utilizes general knowledge of NASCAR rules and procedures to assemble the car to specification.
• Utilizes equipment, such as the Romer Arm, to measure car specifications.

SKILLS & ABILITIES
Education: High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED): Required
Experience: 4 plus years of experience
Computer Skills: Basic computer skills
Certifications & Licenses: Welding certificate preferred.
Other Requirements: Experienced knowledge of welding, including MIG, TIG, and tack welding. Ability to travel as needed. Basic mechanical skills. Ability to work a flexible work schedule. Knowledge of NASCAR templates, measurements, and rules relating to race car standards. Must own personal tools. Advance knowledge of templates required. Previous race experience preferred.
