Tank Welder

Summary: Responsible for performing welding and grinding functions per job specifications. Selects equipment and plans layout and assembly of welding. Works closely and interacts with supervision. Works with precise limits and standards of accuracy. ComplywithallMatrix safetypoliciesandprograms. Identify safety hazards you or other employees may be subject to and take all necessary corrective action to eliminate or minimize hazards. Tank Welders must be able to pass the following weld tests. Carbon Steel Plate Test: SMAW E6010 (5P) 3G, Downhill SMAW E7018 – 2G, 3G, 4G Specialty Vessel Welders must be able to pass the following weld tests. 9% Nickel Plate Test: FCAW (ENiCrMo3T1-4) - 2G, 3G, 4G SMAW (ENiCrMo-6) - 2G, 3G, 4G Must maintain a 95-100% pass rate on weld X-ray/visual exams. Mustbeabletoreadprintsandwritteninstructionsaswellasfollowverbal directions requiredtoperformdutiesandresponsibilities. Followweldingprocedurespecificationswhenwelding. Matrix Welders will receive a competitive compensation. Rate pay will be established upon successful completion of weld test. Qualifications: Tank Building experience, preferred. Must obtain and maintain an active status within the drug testing program and pass background screening. Must possess or be able to pass the Basic Safety Council Class Courses Must complete the Matrix Service Basic Safety training and site-specific training. Must possess a valid TWIC card. Site may require fire retardant clothing. Maintain clean shaven and/or free of facial hair so that a respirator/face mask can seal properly. (Site Specific) Must be willing to frequently travel/relocate. Must be willing to work frequent overtime. Physical Requirements: Must be able to perform tasks at heights. Work will include pushing, pulling, lifting or carrying objects weighing up to 60 pounds, such as raw or fabricated material, equipment or tools.Heavyliftingwilloftenberequiredtoperformtasks. Mustbeabletokneel,squat,andclimb. Work will include frequent bending, kneeling, crouching and stooping and occasional climbing onto equipment and/or trailers. Work involves standing and/or walking for extended periods of time, up to a minimum of 8-10 hours per day Mustbeabletoperformrequireddutiesforextendedperiodsoftime, ofteninsideconfinedspaces. Must be able to perform tasks in hot and cold temperatures. Hiring range: $30.00 to $36.00 per hour While the position offers a wage range of $30.00 to $36.00 per hour, the maximum rate is contingent upon the candidate successfully passing the required weld test and demonstrating relevant 9% nickel welding experience. Candidates who do not meet these requirements may be offered a rate lower within the posted range.
