Staff Accountant/Accounts Payable

Career Staffing Talent (CST) has partnered with an investment company located in downtown West Palm Beach to recruit a driven and motivated Staff Accountant - Accounts Payable to join their accounting team. This position requires working onsite five days a week. The accounting team is small and fosters a family-like environment. You will report directly to an excellent supervisor who is also a great mentor . In this role, you will be able to learn and will play a crucial part in the financial reporting team. Key Responsibilities Manage full-cycle accounts payable for multiple entities, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices, expense reports, and payment disbursements. Initiate and process wire transfers and ACH transactions in compliance with internal controls and banking policies. Maintain vendor records, ensure compliance with W-9/1099 requirements, and resolve vendor inquiries and discrepancies. Own and improve AP processes , identifying areas for efficiency, automation, and better workflow practices. Collaborate closely with property accounting, asset management, legal, and treasury teams to support cross-functional initiatives and shared deadlines. Ensure proper GL coding and accruals for period-end closes and support the accounting team during audits and reporting cycles. Prepare ad-hoc reports, reconciliations, and analysis as needed. Be flexible and responsive to last-minute requests , including urgent payments and executive-level needs. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. 2–4 years of relevant accounting experience; real estate or REIT experience is a plus . Proficient in AP systems and accounting software; experience with Quickbooks or similar platforms is a plus. Strong understanding of GAAP and internal controls, particularly in a multi-entity environment. Excellent time management skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines. Comfortable working independently while also being a collaborative team player.
