Accounting Manager

The Accounting Manager plays a crucial role in managing the financial activities of the organization, overseeing accounting operations, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing financial insights to support strategic decision-making for the group. This position involves leading a team of accountants and collaborating with other departments to maintain accurate financial records and achieve organizational goals.

Job responsibilities include managing and developing a team of accountants, managing AP, AR, and bookkeeping priorities, ensuring accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end close, supporting monthly and quarterly bank compliance activities, supporting budget and forecasting activities, advising staff regarding the handling of non-routine reporting transactions, responding to inquiries from the CEO, Dr. of Finance, and other finance and company managers regarding financial results, monitoring and analyzing department work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources, providing training to new and existing staff as needed, and supporting management with special projects and workflow process improvements.

Qualifications include a BA/BS in Business with an emphasis in accounting, construction or manufacturing accounting experience preferred, experience in navigating through complex technical accounting matters is a must, prior experience managing general ledger and accrual accounting, and a current CPA license preferred.

Requirements include being PC proficient and able to thrive in a fast-paced workplace, strong experience with Microsoft Excel and general AI tools, strong verbal and written communication skills and organization skills, strong interpersonal, supervisory, and customer service skills required, ability to multi-task, work under pressure, and meet deadlines required, strong knowledge of federal and state laws required, strong understanding of GAAP and tax law required, strong work ethic and confidentiality skills required.

Physical requirements include standing, walking, sitting, talking, hearing, typing, and writing; reaching with hands and arms, bending, standing on a stool or climbing, and using fingers and hands to feel objects, tools, or controls; use standard office equipment such as computers, smartphones, printers, photocopiers; prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer; lifting files and opening desk drawers and filing cabinets.

Job Type: Full-time, Salary Exempt Pay: $80,000.00 - $90,000.00 DOE. In determining your pay, we'll consider your experience and other job-related factors.
