Construction Accounting ManagerA well-established Southern California general engineering contractor is seeking a Construction Accounting Manager to support day-to-day accounting and payroll operations. This is a hands-on role supporting accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll processing, vendor accounting, and construction-related compliance documentation.This is a strong fit for someone with accounting experience in the construction industry who understands the documentation and payment processes unique to contractors and public works projects, including certified payroll reports and lien releases.Key ResponsibilitiesManage accounts payable and accounts receivable processesProcess payroll and maintain accurate payroll recordsPrepare and manage Certified Payroll Reports (CPRs)Track and process conditional and unconditional lien releasesReview, process, and reconcile vendor invoices and statementsMaintain accurate vendor and subcontractor payment documentationResearch and resolve invoice, statement, and payment discrepanciesMaintain organized accounting and compliance recordsCoordinate with internal project and operations teams as neededSupport additional day-to-day accounting functions and reportingRequirementsPrevious accounting experience within the construction industry strongly preferredHands-on experience with accounts payable and accounts receivableExperience processing payrollFamiliarity with Certified Payroll Reports (CPRs) and prevailing wage/public works requirements preferredExperience handling lien releases and construction-related payment documentationStrong experience working with vendor invoices and statementsComfortable working within accounting software and Microsoft ExcelStrong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlinesOrganized, dependable, and comfortable working in a hands-on accounting environmentCompensation & BenefitsCompetitive compensation based on experienceMedical, dental, and vision insurance401(k)Paid holidays and PTO
