Large Enterprise HCM Account Executive

Position Overview This role functions within a fast‑paced, competitive, and quota‑driven environment focused on organizations with 1,500 or more employees. The position requires proactive engagement in the field to identify and develop opportunities for HCM solutions. Key attributes that contribute to success include a consultative sales approach, strong prospecting skills, persistence, and a solid understanding of and interest in the product offering. Fully Remote (U.S. Only) This is a fully remote position, allowing you to work from home or your location of record within the U.S. with no in‑office requirements. You must be available five days per week during designated work hours. The work arrangement is subject to change based on business needs and individual performance, including possible adjustments to on‑site requirements or schedule expectations. Primary Responsibilities Determine prospective customers’ needs for payroll, human resources, and more, and present Paylocity services to meet those needs to large organizations with 1,500+ employees. Work in a team selling environment and cooperate with internal sales support partners to increase closing percentage. Prepare and present proposals and provide appropriate follow‑up throughout the sales process. Complete and obtain documentation required for the conversion of data from their previous payroll provider to the Paylocity system, and work directly with internal departments to ensure a smooth transition. Develop prospects through cold calling, referrals, professional and personal contacts, and other sources. Attend Paylocity‑sponsored trade shows, conferences, and other events to promote Paylocity services. Meet or exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales quota for your territory. Make geographic travel within a defined territory. Other duties as assigned. Education and Experience 5+ years of experience in a quota‑driven, business‑to‑business sales position, selling to organizations with 500 or more employees at an enterprise level. Proven ability to communicate effectively with the C‑Suite. Proven ability with sales prospecting and closing. Ability to succeed in a competitive environment. Critical thinking and decision‑making skills to handle objections and unexpected situations throughout the sales cycle. Customer service orientation – the client always comes first. Strong presentation skills to represent Paylocity and help clients visualize the benefits of our services. Strong written and oral communication skills.Strong listening skills to probe further into clients’ needs and expectations. Strong organizational and time‑management skills. Strong partnering skills. Proficiency with MS Office applications and sales automation software desirable. High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree strongly desired. This role offers a competitive salary, commissions, and incentives. Physical Requirements Mobility required for sitting, standing, and walking. Mobility required for driving to prospective client sites. Manual/finger dexterity required in both hands to operate a computer keyboard and manipulate small objects. Sensory ability required to see, hear, and touch. Mental effort required for reading, writing, visualization, calculation, and analysis. Job duties usually performed in an office environment with uniform temperatures and normal air conditions. Compensation and Benefits Pay range: $85,300 – $125,000 per year; base pay may vary based on knowledge, skills, and experience. This position is eligible for a variable commission plan, annual bonus, and restricted stock, and includes medical, dental, vision, life, disability, and a 401(k) match, as well as additional benefits and perks. Compensation details are provided in accordance with state and local pay transparency laws for the location in which this position will be performed.
