Lead Engineer

Job Details Location: SANTA MONICA, CA 90403 Position Type: Full Time Education Level: High School Salary Range: $29.00 - $33.00 Hourly Travel Percentage: Negligible Job Shift: Any Job Category: Facilities Responsibilities Lead the maintenance and repair program of a four‑star or five‑star hotel. Perform ongoing facility maintenance and complete repairs on equipment to keep the property operating. Fix machinery, plumbing, heating, wiring, and other common maintenance issues. Inspect the building to confirm safety standards and ensure a clean, safe environment for guests and employees. Address maintenance concerns promptly and appropriately, escalating issues when necessary. Enforce company standards regarding operational processes and procedures related to the hotel’s maintenance program. Maintain a high‑touch, friendly approach when engaging with guests and team members. Qualifications Required Skills and Abilities High level of concern and care for guests, personal and public safety, and integrity. Strong attention to detail and ability to identify potential hazards. Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Respectful treatment of all people; ownership of tasks and confidentiality. Strong organizational and time‑management skills with a proven ability to meet goals and deadlines. Ability to function well in a fast‑paced, high‑volume environment. Education and Experience High school diploma or GED required. Minimum five years of relevant work experience, preferably in property management or hospitality, and at least one year of supervisory experience. Technical degree or relevant certifications preferred. Prior experience in general building maintenance, light carpentry, electrical, or plumbing, and maintaining and repairing HVAC systems. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or related software. Must have own tools and a valid driver’s license. Physical Requirements Full‑time schedule defined by operational needs. Travel: None. Able to lift or move items weighing up to 25 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally. Require adequate vision, stamina, and dexterity to use hands, manipulate tools, and control equipment. Ability to stand, walk, climb stairs and ladders, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as needed in various weather conditions and climates.
