Emergency Department Float Pool Registered Nurse (ED RN)

Location: Syracuse, NY

Duration - 13 Weeks

Position Overview:
Seeking highly skilled and adaptable Emergency Department Registered Nurses to join a Night Shift ED Float Pool at a high-acuity trauma center. The ideal candidate will have strong emergency nursing experience and the ability to provide exceptional care to both adult and pediatric patients across multiple emergency care areas.

Assignment Details:

• Night Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
• Every Other Weekend Required
• Rotating Holiday Coverage Required
• Float Pool Position
• Adult and Pediatric Emergency Patient Population

Required Qualifications:

• Active New York State Registered Nurse License
• BLS Certification
• ACLS Certification
• PALS Certification
• TNCC Certification
• Minimum 2 years of recent acute care experience (within the last 2 years)
• Experience in hospitals of similar size and acuity

Preferred Qualifications:

• Level I Trauma Center experience
• Level II Trauma Center experience
• Epic Electronic Medical Record experience

• Rapid Assessment and Triage
• Critical Thinking and Clinical Decision-Making
• Acute Care Nursing Interventions

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and provide direct patient care
• Deliver high-quality care in fast-paced emergency settings
• Float between emergency care areas with minimal orientation
• Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary healthcare teams
• Maintain patient safety and adherence to clinical best practices
• Document care accurately and efficiently
