Ascension Global Staffing & Executive Search is pleased to present this opportunity on behalf of a well-established and growing law firm seeking a Mid-Level Commercial Litigation Associate Attorney to join a team of seasoned litigators. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated, detail-oriented attorney with 4+ years of commercial litigation experience to manage sophisticated business disputes and build a meaningful litigation practice within a supportive, high-caliber environment.

The ideal candidate brings extensive litigation strategy, exceptional drafting skills, and experience in leading complex matters from inception through resolution (including depositions and hearings).

Annual Billable Requirement (All Associates): 1,840 hours

Upon request, candidates for associate positions should be prepared to provide a transcript from a deposition he/she conducted and/or a transcript from a special set or evidentiary hearing he/she argued.

The Commercial Litigation Associate will work closely with partners and senior attorneys on complex business disputes across a range of industries. The associate will be expected to lead matters, exercise sound legal judgement, and deliver exceptional client service - with full mentorship and professional development support from the firm's leadership.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Case management - lead a caseload of complex commercial litigation matters from inception through resolution under partner supervision
• Drafting - conduct legal research and draft pleadings, discovery requests and responses, motions, and memoranda of law with precision and persuasion
• Depositions - take and defend depositions of parties, fact witnesses, and expert witnesses across a variety of complex business disputes
• Court appearances - appear in state and federal court for hearings, status conferences, and motion arguments
• Trial participation - assist with all aspects of trial preparation and actively participate in trials, arbitrations, and mediations as needed
• Client service - communicate proactively and professionally with clients, opposing counsel, and internal teams throughout every matter
• Professional development - stay current on developments in commercial and business litigation law and contribute to firm knowledge initiatives

QUALIFICATIONS
• Education - J.D. from an accredited law school with strong academic credentials
• Licensure - admitted to practice in Florida; federal court admission strongly preferred
• Experience - 5+ years of commercial litigation experience at a law firm, with demonstrated proficiency in discovery, motion practice, and depositions
• Writing & analysis - exceptional legal writing, analytical reasoning, and organizational skills
• Work style - ability to manage multiple competing priorities, meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment, and operate with a high degree of professionalism and initiative
• Team orientation - collaborative mindset, strong work ethic, and a genuine desire to grow as a litigator within a firm environment

PREFERRED SKILLS - NOT REQUIRED

• Experience in financial services, real estate, or employment-related business litigation
• Familiarity with eDiscovery platforms and litigation support technology, Trial experience or formal trial readiness training
