Registered Nurse – Progressive Care / Neuro Stepdown

Contract | Night Shift | Onsite | Weekends Required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a neurological stepdown/progressive care unit setting
• Monitor and assess patients requiring intermediate-level care, including post-neurological and step-down patients
• Perform and document neurological assessments using NIHSS protocols
• Administer medications, treatments, and interventions per physician orders and unit protocols
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams to develop and implement individualized patient care plans
• Accurately document all patient care activities and clinical findings within the electronic health record system

Required Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a neurological stepdown, IMC, PCU, or stepdown specialty
• NIHSS certification (must be documented and verifiable)
• ACLS certification
• Proficiency with Epic electronic health record system
• Ability to work weekends and non-block scheduling as required

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Strong medical/surgical nursing background with stepdown exposure may be considered
• Experience caring for neurological patient populations in an acute care environment
• Familiarity with progressive care workflows and intermediate-level monitoring
