Job Title

Registered Nurse – Progressive Care / Step Down (IMC/PCU)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Night Shift | 36 or 48 hours per week | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a 16-bed Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) with a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Monitor and manage patients presenting with conditions including sepsis, heart failure, hypertensive emergency, respiratory failure, COPD, chronic kidney disease, Type 2 diabetes, substance abuse, and encephalopathy
• Administer and monitor Heparin drips and other IV medications in accordance with unit protocols
• Assess patient status, recognize changes in condition, and initiate appropriate interventions in a timely manner
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams to develop and execute individualized patient care plans

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in a progressive care, step down, or IMC/PCU setting
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
• Experience managing Heparin drips and caring for high-acuity medical patients

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience caring for patients with sepsis, respiratory failure, or encephalopathy in an intermediate care environment
• Familiarity with caring for patients with substance abuse diagnoses and complex chronic conditions
