This unique position offers the privilege of serving a diverse clientele across the lifespan within a dynamic environment that integrates outpatient therapy with occasional inpatient engagement. Whether your passion lies within pediatric speech development, adult cognitive-linguistic disorders, or geriatric rehabilitation, you will discover both fulfillment and flexibility in this role.
Conduct assessments of patients from pediatric through geriatrics using both standardized tools and keen observational skills.
Create customized treatment plans that cater to immediate goals and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing needs.
Deliver individualized speech therapy interventions centered on communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing.
Engage with interdisciplinary teams including physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, doctors, caregivers, and families to foster comprehensive care strategies.
Provide education to patients and families, ensuring progress continues outside the therapy setting.
Participate in inpatient speech therapy assessments as needed, securing continuity of care throughout treatment.
Ensure accurate and timely documentation in accordance with state, federal, and organizational standards.
Enhance your expertise by staying updated on the latest advancements in the field through continuing education and peer collaboration.
Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a recognized institution.
Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet certified by ASHA.
State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) awarded by ASHA.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within the first 30 days of employment.
Expertise in evidence-based therapeutic approaches for a wide age range, coupled with a solid understanding of both developmental and acquired communication and swallowing disorders.
Outstanding interpersonal communication abilities with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
Capacity to tailor therapy strategies to meet various cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
Strong clinical judgment and problem-solver mindset.
Comfortable navigating electronic medical records and adhering to documentation standards.
