Job Summary School Secretary I – 8 hours per day, 10 months, Seven Locks Elementary School. 8:30 am–5:00 pm, duty‑free lunch 30 min. Grade 12. Full‑time (80 hrs bi-weekly). Responsibilities Perform general office work under supervision in a school setting. Operate office equipment, maintain attendance records, type reports, answer phones, take messages. Photocopy, assemble materials, maintain files. Use independent judgment to ensure tasks and activities are completed. Maintain relationships with students, parents, staff and community members. Qualifications Working knowledge of business English, spelling, arithmetic. Understanding of modern office practices and procedures. Minor decision‑making ability in accordance with established policies. Clerical record‑keeping and routine report preparation. Strong human‑relations and communication skills. Proficiency with typewriter, computer word‑processing, databases (OASIS, OSS, SIMS, etc.). Knowledge of the seven core competencies of the Supporting Services Professional Growth System (SSPGS). Education & Experience High School or GED diploma. One year of responsible clerical or secretarial work in a busy office. Other combinations of education, training, and experience may be considered. Additional Information Physical demands: sustained keyboard operation. No required certification.
