Student Assistant - SOP Peer Tutor

Job description: School of Pharmacy tutors are a part of a network of trained P2 and P3 students who support peer learning in SOP didactic courses. Peer tutors provide an extra layer of academic support for students by reviewing critical course concepts and materials from class and assisting students, in conjunction with the Assistant Dean for Student Academic Success Programs, to promote the use of evidence-based study strategies and development of metacognition.

Qualifications: SOP peer tutors are selected by the Associate Dean for Student Affairs and Academic Success Programs based on prior academic performance, professionalism and teaching potential. Peer tutors must be SOP students in their second (P2) or third professional year (P3) and complete all pre-requisite training prior to being assigned to a student. Tutors must complete the Basic Tutor Training program offered through the National Tutoring Association before beginning assigned students to tutor.


Work Days and Hours: Work days and hours can vary throughout the semester. Tutors are assigned to students based on need and tutor expertise and experience.
