Responsibilities
Hines, the global real estate investment manager, is seeking a strategic, and experienced events marketing professional with proven success in creating, managing, and executing events and sponsorships for institutional and private wealth investors, with a focus on delivering brand activation, driving attendee engagement, and providing revenue growth.
This person should have a strong foundation in financial services events and will be tasked with creating, implementing, and continuously improving our investor event strategy that supports the firmwide goals. The ideal candidate understands investment management and is highly organized and detail-oriented, with strong time management, leadership, and collaboration skills. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Lead the strategy and oversight of all investor‑facing events and third-party industry conferences for both Institutional and Private Wealth audiences, ensuring each opportunity supports firmwide capital‑raising, client engagement, and relationship‑building goals.
- Partner with leadership to determine which events best align with business priorities; define event purpose, target audiences, messaging, and expected outcomes.
- Maintain the Global Events Tracker as the central source for all upcoming investor events and conferences, key dates, internal participants, resource needs, and cross‑team dependencies, ensuring full visibility and alignment.
- Lead end‑to‑end project management for all Hines-hosted investor events, overseeing goal setting, invitation and outreach strategy, agenda development, branding, vendor management, and onsite execution.
- Manage all third-party conferences that support our investment strategy goals—evaluating opportunities based on audience relevance, thematic focus, speaking or sponsorship value, competitive presence, cost, and expected business impact, and recommending the appropriate level of participation.
- Oversee the full scope of industry conference participation, from sponsorship and branding execution to coordinating speaking roles, scheduling 1:1 meetings, and organizing ancillary investor events.
- Prepare pre‑event briefing packets that equip all internal attendees with the essential information needed for effective participation, including event objectives, agendas, key contacts, attendee insights, logistics, and meeting priorities.
- Lead post‑event and post‑conference reporting, summarizing outcomes, engagement, costs, and strategic impact; provide clear recommendations regarding improvements, future participation, and ROI.
- Oversee event budgets at a strategic level, optimizing vendor spend, monitoring expenses, and coordinating timely updates with Finance.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements include:
- Bachelor's degree in Event Management, Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field from an accredited institution, preferred, or equivalent years of direct experience required.
- 7+ years of professional experience, ideally within finance events, marketing, or strategic communications, with exposure to high‑level or executive‑driven programs.
- Strategic thinker with demonstrated ability to translate business goals into event experiences.
- Exceptional project management skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize and lead multiple complex initiatives in a fast‑paced, high‑visibility environment.
- Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate and influence across all levels.
- Calm, solution-oriented approach under pressure.
- Advanced proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite.
- Familiarity with event technology platforms (Cvent, Salesforce, ON24) a plus.
- Focused on achieving measurable outcomes and delivering high-quality results through consistent performance and goal-oriented actions.
- Able to pivot and adjust approaches in response to changing circumstances, needs, and priorities.
- Actively drives transformation and improvement, advocating for innovation and continuous development within the firm.
- Makes decisions based on long-term vision and strategic objectives, ensuring alignment with overall business goals.
- Comfortable with uncertainty and able to thrive in dynamic environments, swiftly adjusting to new challenges and opportunities.
- Committed to managing resources efficiently, ensuring financial sustainability, and making sound budgetary decisions to support business growth.
- Forms mutually beneficial relationships with other individuals or groups.
- Actively seeks to expand one's knowledge base and learn from experiences.
- Ability to operate a computer, phone system, and general office equipment.
- Ability to lift files, records, and computer paper (approximately 5-10 lbs.)
- Hybrid work environment (three+ days/week in office).
- Ability to travel up to 33%.
- Compensation: $118,400 - $175,890
