With the power of many curious minds, together we can solve the world’s most complex challenges and deliver more impact together.Role description:Arcadis is seeking an Assistant Resident Engineer, with 5-10 years of experience, to join our Water Division as part of our construction management team on a NYCDEP construction project in Staten Island, NY. his is an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated individual to join our team with support from one of the best-qualified municipal consulting firms in the country. As an Assistant Resident Engineer, you will utilize your experience and technical knowledge of municipal infrastructure, water and wastewater facilities and general building projects to successfully execute and manage construction under the supervision of the Resident Engineer.Role accountabilities:In this position you will be expected to manage the firm’s day-to-day construction oversight/Asst. Resident Engineering efforts on a major NYCDEP infrastructure upgrade contract. Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to :Assisting the Resident Engineer in managing the inspection staff and the delivery of daily inspector reports in accordance with clients’ requirements. This will involve managing office staff responsible for record keeping, general correspondence, compiling and drafting of required reports and deliverables. Site safety is a priority here at Arcadis and you be expcted to assist the RE in managing overall site safety and permit condition compliance.Act as liaison to design staff to respond to Contractors’ RFIs and review of shop drawings. You will also monitor contractor performance, schedule, overall responsiveness and effectiveness and exert influence to maintain project goals regarding cost, schedule, quality, etc.Provide technical review of construction plans and specifications and project changes for constructability and practicality.Support the review, preparation and processing of Contractor payments by our Project Controls staffAssist the RE in leading meetings and preparation of meeting agendas and minutes.Use effective oral and written communication skills to effectively lead progress, project, safety, scheduling and other contract administration meetings with client, local agencies and the community.Qualifications & Experience:Required Qualifications:Prior experience as an Office Engineer or Assistant Resident Engineer for NYC projects.Engineer in Training (EIT) Certification Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Construction or a related field of studyPreferred Qualifications:10 years’ experience with at least 5 years of Assistant Resident Engineering or office engineering experience for NYCDEP or NYCDDC.Professional Engineer - New York (active)Active participation in regional or national professional associations.Continue your career journey as an Arcadian.We can only achieve our goals when everyone is empowered to be their best.
