Health Systems Business Development Manager (Houston, TX)

About The Role Bend Health, a Lyra Health Company, is looking for an experienced professional with a background in business development, health‑care sales, and consulting. You should be passionate about mental health, spark enthusiasm in others, and be comfortable storytelling. You will leverage verbal, written, project management, and quantitative skills, and you should be as fluent in Excel/Google Sheets as in PowerPoint/Google Slides. Bring a strong sense of urgency, empathy, and obsessive organization. The role is fully remote with 40 % customer travel and requires the candidate to live within commuting distance of Houston, TX. Responsibilities Exceed your annual quota of bringing in new Bend Health partners. Inspire senior executives at leading companies to prioritize mental health urgently. Prospect new potential business independently and collaboratively with key Bend and Lyra generation partners. Educate partner leadership about the U.S. mental‑health care system and Bend’s benefits. Communicate Bend’s unique value verbally, in writing, and quantitatively. Negotiate with medical directors, administrators, network contracting, finance, and procurement executives. Consistently document deal progress to provide Bend with the data needed to grow the business. Coordinate with Bend and Lyra’s Customer Success team to ensure successful implementations and ongoing client management. Continue building relationships with contracted health systems to grow referral volume and increase scope of covered and referred services. Core Competencies Strategic Relationship Building – Cultivates trust with health system and payer executives; creates long‑term, mutually beneficial partnerships. Consultative Selling – Uses deep listening and tailored solutions to position Bend’s offerings and drive decision‑making. Executive Communication – Clearly and confidently presents complex concepts to senior leaders across clinical and business settings. Negotiation & Influence – Navigates complex contracting discussions and aligns stakeholders to achieve win‑win outcomes. Market & Industry Insight – Maintains a strong understanding of the U.S. healthcare and mental‑health landscape to inform strategy. Data‑Driven Mindset – Leverages analytics and quantitative insights to build compelling business cases and measure impact. Collaboration & Cross‑Functional Leadership – Works seamlessly with internal teams (Customer Success, Product, Marketing, Finance) to deliver integrated solutions. Resilience & Adaptability – Maintains focus and energy in a fast‑changing environment and persists through challenges. Qualifications 5+ years experience in sales, business development, consulting, or comparable roles. Experience selling directly to health systems or working as a consultant with health systems is preferred. Tenacious and persistent. Skilled negotiator on business terms of a contract. Interested in better understanding the workings of the U.S. healthcare system. Passion for mental health. Intellectually curious. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Quantitative with a love of diving into numbers to identify insights. Willingness to travel (40 %). Salary Range $81,200 to $111,650 + eligible for commission payments.
