Machine Technician 3rd Shift

Location Lincoln, 13 Powder Hill Rd, Lincoln, RI 02865, USA Shift Times Monday - Thursday: 11:00 p.m. - 6:00 a.m. Friday - Saturday: 11:00 p.m. - 8:30 a.m. Position Summary The Machine Technician will be responsible for performing various tasks to set up, operate, monitor, and troubleshoot on assigned machine(s). The Machine Technician will also be responsible for inspecting parts to specifications and adjusting or changing tools as necessary to maintain quality specifications. This includes the ability to resolve minor component and quality issues as required, maintaining expected production results, maintaining production rate as stated on each BOM, and verifying quality standards of each part and the integrity of each process cycle per set‑up sheets and Control Plans. Core Functions Support and train operators on various machines. Operate machine to ensure continuous production at a constant rate of the correct product at high quality levels with minimal wasted time and materials throughout the entire shift while performing basic adjustments to ensure safe and efficient production. Perform in‑process inspections of parts throughout the production run and ensure they meet visual standards of acceptance. Produce parts in the proper quantity as identified by the production schedule. Perform necessary pre‑operation activities to ensure proper equipment startup. Adjust machine settings to complete tasks accurately, according to specifications and in a timely fashion. Perform operational procedures to ensure the quality of the product produced. Follow and commit to meeting Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for safety, quality, production, efficiency, and service requirements. Report material utilization in the production report. Ensure daily production report data is reported correctly and up to date; recognize defective materials for color, surface blemishes, finish, and dimensions. Identify the proper tooling required for pending production. Inspect the condition of molds and component parts for damage and wear. Inspect machine, conveyor, and tools in department; notify Lead when a maintenance repair form is needed or replacement tools are required. Keep work cells, department, and fire doors clear of trash and other obstructions that could hinder department performance or safety. Maintain condition of work area to meet 6‑S standards. Communicate with team members and support teams; maintain a professional attitude while supporting Leads, Supervisors, and Manager. Demonstrate flexibility and willingness to assist whenever and in whatever capacity needed to ensure continuous production at a constant rate of the correct product at high quality levels with minimal wasted time and materials throughout the entire shift. Qualifications & Requirements High school diploma or GED required (job experience may be considered in lieu). Associate degree or equivalent from a two‑year college or technical school; or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience preferred. Prior experience operating manufacturing and process control equipment required. Injection mold or related machine operator experience required. Powered Industrial Truck certification required (Forklift, Reach Truck, Cherry Picker). Supervisor Responsibilities Individual Contributor: working team member with no oversight of others and no management responsibilities. Physical Requirements This position is subject to Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical Activities Climbing, balancing, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, crawling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions. Required to have close visual acuity to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data and figures, transcribing, viewing a computer terminal, expansive reading, visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly of fabrication of parts at distances close to the eyes.
