Senior Accountant

Client Overview: Our client is a privately held global organization that is a leader in their industry. They are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accountant to join their team based in New Jersey. Salary/Hourly Rate: $110k - $120k Position Overview: As the Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for overseeing various accounting functions, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records, and providing valuable insights to support strategic decision-making. Your experience in financial analysis, reporting, and compliance will contribute to the overall success of the organization. Responsibilities of the Senior Accountant: Perform general accounting functions, including financial statement preparation, analysis, and reconciliation. Oversee month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting. Monitor and analyze financial data, identifying trends and providing insights to support strategic decision-making. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal controls. Assist with the development and implementation of financial policies, procedures, and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy. Prepare and review various financial reports, including budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis. Manage and mentor junior accounting staff, providing guidance and support to foster their professional growth. Stay updated with the latest accounting regulations and industry trends, implementing best practices where applicable. Support external audits and liaise with auditors as needed. Required Experience/Skills for the Senior Accountant: Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial reporting standards. Proficient in using accounting software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with meticulous attention to detail. Solid understanding of internal controls and compliance requirements. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders. Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines. Preferred Experience/Skills for the Senior Accountant: CPA is preferred. Experience with IFRS is preferred. Previous experience with ERP systems is highly desirable. Education Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required.
