Make a meaningful difference supporting children and families as a contract Occupational Therapist specializing in early intervention services. This full-time position is based at the district office and focuses on a caseload of infants and toddlers, providing vital therapy in a collaborative, educational environment. The ideal candidate is dedicated, compassionate, and ready to play a crucial part in developmental support programs.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Maryland Occupational Therapy license required
- Experience providing occupational therapy in a school setting, specifically with early childhood populations such as infants and toddlers
- Understanding of IEP/IFSP processes, pediatric milestones, and family-centered care principles
- Strong organizational and documentation abilities
- Collaborative mindset and excellent communication skills
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments and develop individualized therapy plans for each child on your caseload, addressing developmental and sensory-motor needs
- Deliver direct therapy sessions in coordination with educators, families, and other service providers
- Participate in multi-disciplinary team meetings to ensure integrated, child-centered support
- Maintain detailed progress documentation and contribute to IFSP and goal tracking
- Guide and educate caregivers to facilitate skill development in daily routines
- Adapt strategies and materials as needed to best serve each unique learner
