Family Nurse Practitioner# Family Nurse PractitionerHot JobMain Clinic - Lubbock, TX 79401## DescriptionThe Advanced Nurse Practitioner is responsible for providing preventive and primary care as a part of a health care team in an ambulatory setting in a particular discipline. The Nurse Practitioner works in collaboration with a physician and provides care under established guidelines agreed upon by the nurse practitioner and the physician.Duties include:* Providing primary care to patients* Performing initial examinations, including physical exams and patient observations* Setting up and monitoring medical equipment* Ordering and administering diagnostic tests* Communicating test results to patients and their families* Recording patient medical histories* Operating and maintaining medical equipment## Qualifications**Education:**Registered nurse and successful completion of a certified post-graduate program for nurse practitioners.**Licensure:**Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Texas. BSN or advanced degree, certification and/or license in specialty. Maintains current DEA license. Current in Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers (BLS).**Experience:**Prefer experience but will consider new graduate.**Expertise:**Primary health care**Language:**English; bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred**Travel:**Occasionally; valid Texas driver’s license and current auto insurance required; must have reliable and safe transportation.**Hours of Work:** 8am-5pm M-F with some weekend/evening work.
