Technical Writer

Job Description

Insight Global is looking for a Technical Writer in the Greater San Jose area. In this role you will create documentation including user manuals, instruction & build guides, FAQs and system process documents, translate complex technical concepts into plain language for non-technical end users without sacrificing precision, incorporate visuals such as diagrams, charts, graphs, and screenshots to clarify instructions and reduce reader effort and structure content logically and maintain information architecture so readers can find answers fast.

Skills and Requirements

5 years of Technical Writing experience, specifically within engineering, hardware and/or manufacturing environments

Exceptional writing and editing skills, with strong command of grammar, clarity and concise phrasing

Experience documenting technical products across hardware, software, systems and/or operational processes

Technical aptitude and familiarity with documentation tooling such as MS Office, MES and/or Confluence

Ability to read and interpret engineering documentation, drawings and schematics Associate degree or higher in quality, engineering, or a related field

Familiarity with ISO 9001 / AS9100 quality management systems.

Familiarity with wire harness and cable assembly inspection (e.g., IPC-A-620).

Six Sigma Green Belt or lean/continuous-improvement experience
