We are searching for an experienced technical writer to join our team at Cisco Systems. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with subject-matter experts (SMEs) and experienced technical writers, and gain hands-on experience in creating high-quality documentation.

Objectives of this role

• Develop comprehensive documentation that meets organizational standards
• Gain deep understanding of products and services, and translate complex information into simple, polished, engaging content
• Write user-friendly content that meets the needs of target audience
• Evaluate current content and develop innovative methods for improvement

Responsibilities

• Research, write, and edit content, working closely with various teams such as development, QA, and technical marketing
• Coordinate internal reviews for your product documentation

Required skills and qualifications

• experience as an effective technical writer
• Proven ability to quickly learn and understand complex subject matter
• Experience in writing documentation and procedure manuals for various audiences
• Superb written communication skills, with a keen eye for detail
• Experience in working with developers to improve user experience, refine content, and create visuals and diagrams
• Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
• Write clear, concise content

Preferred skills and qualifications-NOT MUST

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in journalism, communications, or a relevant technical field
• Firm understanding of systems development lifecycle (SDLC)
• Experience in using DITA XML tools, AsciiDoc or Markdown, and MS Word to create documentation
