Job Requirements:

• Experience: 2 years in an outpatient clinic setting, 1 year in OBGYN
• Medical Assistant Diploma from a DAPIP accredited program
• Certifications: BLS (AHA or ARC only)
• Education: HS/GED
• Special Requirements: Proficiency with blood/lab draws and venipuncture, Experience with the following OBGYN procedures required: PAP, Coplo, Leep, D&C, EMB, IUD insertions and removals, Nexplanon, and NST

Job Details:

• Shift: 8 hours between 0600-1800
• Weekend REQ: NO
• Floating REQ: YES, as needed
• NO SCHEDULING REQUESTS CAN BE ACCOMODATED

Unit Details:

• Interdisciplinary Support: OBGYN office approx 20 providers. Women's Health Care, OB visits, GYN consults, OB/GYN Procedures
• Special Procedures/Unit Details: Rooming patients, Blood and specimen collection, Vital signs, Patient histories
• The Medical Assistant is also responsible to address patient, physician, and staff concerns and escalate accordingly
• Provides assistance in QA measures for suites, including recording QC testing on designated equipment
• Provides assistance and direct patient inquiries or complaints to appropriate medical staff members and follow up to ensure satisfactory resolution
• Monitors their own workflow to identify opportunities for improvement
• Participates in daily huddles and staff meetings
• Adheres to all infection prevention standards, department policies and guidelines

Compliance Submission Rules:

• Locals: Locals are accepted unless otherwise stated in the job title. A reduced local rate applies for MAs & LVNs ONLY.
• Licensure: LVNs must have a valid CA IV certification at the time of submission. MAs must have a certification from an accredited school listed on the DAPIP website.
• Floating: Traveler must be flexible. Specific float locations will be listed in job posting if required.
• References: 2 references from within the past 1 year of employment are required at the time of submission. Must be supervisor or higher - No Charge RN. Hard Stop.
• Return Staff Policy: Previous perm employees must be separated for 24 months before they are eligible for travel positions at all Cedars-Sinai facilities (including Torrance Memorial Medical Center and Cedars Marina Del Rey), with the exception of CSMN, which requires a 12 month separation. All past Cedars employment (travel, staff, etc.) MUST be included on profile.
• Background Policy: Any license or background hit requires a detailed written statement from the traveler. License/background hits will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. Any license or background hits that are open and/or pending are an automatic redirect. All hits must be completely closed.
• RTO Rules: Max RTO: 7 days. No RTO within the first 2 weeks of the assignment. Must be included at the time of submission.
• Compliance: Modules are billable, max billable hours: Non-Clinical traveler: 8 hours, Clinical/Allied traveler: 10 hours, Lead/Supervisor traveler: 10 hours. Modules are completed pre-start, and vary by specialty. Modules are recorded via transcripts.
