Fully Qualified Teacher - Summer Camp (Seasonal Position)

Under the direct supervision of the ECE Administrator, Fully Qualified Teachers (FQT) are responsible for providing a warm, caring, calm, orderly, safe, and healthy early learning environment in accordance with the policies and procedures of the non-subsidized Early Education program. FQTs may be assigned to work in a classroom with children from birth through 12 years or as a support teacher across all age groups. FQTs are required to provide high-quality care, supervision, and educational experiences to all children. FQTs are responsible for the day-to-day supervision of Teacher’s Aides, as assigned to their classroom. Follow OSHA regulations, Universal Precautions, and all safety policies. Demonstrate professionalism, teamwork, and respectful communication with staff, children, and families. Participate in quality improvement efforts and department goals. Support Maryvale’s Performance & Quality Improvement Plan, including participation in goal setting, data collection, and analysis. Create and maintain a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning environment aligned with program goals and ERS Level 5+ standards. Plan and implement daily activities (in-person and virtual) that support children’s emotional, social, physical, and cognitive development using Creative Curriculum; collaborate with the teaching team as needed. Ensure constant visual supervision of children in compliance with Maryvale policy and Title 22 regulations Follow all health and safety procedures, including sanitation, diapering, recordkeeping, safe sleep, adherence to allergy protocols, and food program documentation. Maintain accurate child records (daily reports, anecdotal notes, behavior logs, DRDPs). Complete 21 hours of annual professional development and update the Workforce Registry.. Attend and participate in trainings, meetings, and discussion groups. Communicate promptly with supervisors regarding concerns, safety issues, or questions; act as a mandated reporter. Supervise, mentor, and provide feedback on Teacher’s Aides; collaborate with team members to promote a cohesive work environment. Demonstrate compassion, professionalism, sound judgment, and confidentiality at all times. Respond appropriately to emergencies; remain on site until authorized to leave May transport children for school-age programs (with training). Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent Current immunizations and active fingerprint clearance. Minimum 12 ECE/CD semester units, including core courses (Child Development; Child, Family & Community; 2 Curriculum classes). Alternate coursework accepted for School Age staff (must meet Title 22 requirements). At least 6 months of experience working with children (paid or unpaid). Physical Requirements Regularly required to walk, stand, sit, use hands, and communicate effectively. Frequently bend, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Occasionally lift/move up to 25 lbs. Visual abilities include close/distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment. May occasionally drive a motor vehicle.
