Position Overview

The Security Alarm Systems Technician performs installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and testing of electronic security systems including:

• Access Control Systems
• CCTV Surveillance Systems
• Intrusion Alarm Systems
• Electronic Door Hardware
• Monitoring and Detection Devices

This position requires strong technical knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Essential Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, repair, and test security systems hardware and software
• Install and service CCTV cameras, alarm systems, access control systems, card readers, electronic locks, and related devices
• Run and terminate low-voltage wiring and data cabling
• Diagnose and repair system malfunctions
• Test and inspect systems to ensure proper operation and compliance with standards
• Perform emergency service repairs as needed
• Install and relocate security equipment at customer sites
• Use hand tools, power tools, ladders, and testing equipment safely and effectively
• Maintain accurate service and installation records
• Work with monitoring, alarm, and data circuits
• Participate in rotating on-call schedules

Qualifications Required:

• High school diploma or GED
• 13 years of experience installing and servicing security systems
• Knowledge of:
• CCTV Systems
• Access Control Systems
• Alarm Systems
• Valid DCJS Electronic Security Technician Registration or eligibility to obtain one
• Valid driver's license with:
• 3 or more safe driving points
• No outstanding or pending traffic violations
• Ability to safely operate company equipment including electric scissor lifts and trailers
• Willingness to travel and work out of town when needed
• Availability for evening work in retail environments as required
• Ability to work rotating on-call shifts and overtime when necessary

Work Environment

This role involves working in commercial, retail, and field environments. Technicians may work indoors and outdoors and should be comfortable with physical activity including lifting equipment, climbing ladders, and operating tools and machinery.
