The Opportunity

At Alera Group, our Property & Casualty team partners with businesses to identify risks, protect assets, and deliver insurance solutions that support long-term success. As a Commercial Lines Account Manager, you'll help build trusted client relationships, deliver exceptional service, and provide proactive guidance that helps clients confidently navigate an evolving risk landscape.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate expirations with producers to obtain renewal and new business information
• Manage day-to-day client communications, ensuring timely responses and effective resolution of service issues
• Review policies and endorsements for accuracy in rating, coverage, and compliance
• Market new and renewal business by requesting carrier proposals, reviewing specifications, and evaluating coverage options
• Prepare proposals and presentation materials while negotiating pricing and coverage terms with carriers
• Manage the renewal process, including strategy development, marketing, proposal preparation, and client presentations
• Provide ongoing client service, including claims assistance, policy changes, certificates, auto ID cards, and other documentation
• Maintain accurate account records, document client interactions, manage follow-up activities, and follow agency errors and omissions guidelines

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

• Active Property & Casualty Insurance License
• 2 to 3 years of commercial lines account management experience
• Strong understanding of commercial insurance underwriting and coverages
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and agency management systems
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience negotiating with carriers and advocating for clients
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Experience with AMS360, Applied Epic, or a similar agency management system
• Professional designation such as CIC or CISR

Work Arrangement: This position is Hybrid.

• Hybrid: This role follows a hybrid work arrangement, combining in-office and remote work based on business needs and manager expectations.

Travel Requirements: Occasional travel may be required to support office implementations, training, and collaboration with project teams.
