Surgical Technician

Surgical TechnicianOur client, a healthcare company, is looking for a surgical technician for their Royal Oak, MI location. Responsibilities include preparing and anticipating instrumentation, equipment, and supplies for usage during the procedure, setting up the sterile back table and Mayo stand with instruments, supplies, equipment, and medications/solutions needed for the procedure, performing instrument, sharps, and sponge counts with the circulator, participating in procedure final verification and during the briefing process, assisting with draping the patient and establishing the sterile field, anticipating the needs of the surgeon by passing instruments and supplies to surgeon during procedure, maintaining the highest standard of sterile technique during the procedure, preparing and passing off specimen(s) as appropriate, cleaning and preparing instruments for terminal sterilization, when assigned, assisting other members of the team with cleaning the operating room to facilitate turn overs, participating in debriefing and quality improvement practices to ensure quality patient care, assisting in the development of a proper learning environment in relation to orientation and education of personnel and students, and performing other duties as assigned.Requirements include a required high school diploma, preferred graduate of an accredited surgical technology program, required prior training required by a hospital, surgical technology, or military program that meets the knowledge, skill, and ability required to perform the role, preferred membership to the Association of Surgical Technologists (AST), one year of relevant experience, minimum of one-year experience is preferred for all roles, CRT-Surgical Technologist, Certified (CST) - NBSTSA National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting 180 Days preferred, CRT-Basic Life Support Instructor (BLS INSTR) - AHA American Heart Association.Why should you apply?
