We are currently seeking an Environmental Scientist I for our growing environmental consulting practice in our NYC office. The successful candidate will lead project and field work, including Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments/Investigations and preparation of Remedial Action Workplans in the NYC metropolitan area. The ideal candidate for this position is an enthusiastic, self-motivated individual who has at least 2 years of experience and is ready to take on project leadership and staff training. Strong interpersonal and writing skills are critical. Salary range starts at $70,000 What you'll do Complete site investigations to determine the nature and extent of contaminated soil, soil vapor, sediment, groundwater, and other media on a variety of sites, including public (parks, schools/universities, transit-related), residential, industrial. commercial, and private. Complete Phase I Environmental Site Assessments Participate in all aspects of site investigation and remediation, from preparation of workplans, conducting field work, writing summary reports, and final remedial documents Assist with the preparation of technical reports, specifications, and plans; data management and evaluation; and environmental assessment and remediation; The candidate will assist with training entry level staff Field work will include oversight of subcontractors, including drillers and other laborersduring soil boring advancement, monitoring well installation, test pit installation, excavation activities, and remedial construction activities; and sampling various media including soil, groundwater, sediment, soil vapor, and air Perform Phase 1 Environmental Site Assessments in accordance with ASTM E1527, supervise junior staff, and perform peer reviews of same.
