Our 'be healthy' culture promotes health and wellness at all levels of the Company, and we provide our employees with the time, tools and resources to commit to a healthy lifestyle.# Job Summary –The Manager of Financial Reporting completes a wide range of tasks resulting in ensuring timely and accurate financial statements to include overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Financial Reporting area of the Finance Division; reviewing and reporting on financial statement activity, including reviewing all GAAP and Statutory based financial statements and filings; remaining current on GAAP and Statutory developments and assisting in developing and documenting accounting policy; overseeing and approving applicable general ledger reconciliations; ensuring accurate claims reporting and payments; overseeing subsidiary accounting and ensuring adherence to GAAP, Statutory, Corporate, and Federal Employee Program guidelines. This position is responsible for remaining up to date on healthcare reform topics, including but not limited to, reviewing the Company’s annual medical loss ratio rebate filing and monitoring and reporting the medical loss ratio monthly. This position is also accountable for planning and executing special projects contributing to the strategic direction of the Plan.**Job-Specific Requirements:*** Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting* Master’s of Accounting preferred* Valid CPA Certification Required* Must have three years’ experience with increasing responsibility* Working knowledge of GAAP* PC skills required to include the Microsoft Office suite.* Experience using a Mainframe based General Ledger is preferred.* Must have strong technical, analytical and problem-solving skillsBlue Cross & Blue Shield of Mississippi is an Equal opportunity Employer.
