Co-op, Flight Operations - Project Development Office (Spring 2027)

How you'll help us Keep Climbing (overview & key responsibilities) Delta’sFlight Operations Project Development Office (PDO) is seeking an individual whois passionate about advancing technology applications and initiatives insupport of 17,000+ pilots. The team evaluates current work processes to identifyand recommend business opportunities.Additionally, the team works on technology solutions that align withsenior leadership’s strategy to continuously improve the line pilot experience. Within the Flight Ops Crew Technology department, the Co-opteam works within the Project Development Office (PDO) with two full-timeemployees. The purpose of the PDO is to create value by assisting Flight Opsstakeholders to achieve business goals and ideate new processes, resulting inefficiency gains. We do this by helping them navigate the technologydevelopment process through the agile ecosystem, spanning from intake toapproval to execution. Additionally, we provide Internal Consulting servicesthat focus on cost savings and process improvements. Another responsibility for the PDO is ChangeManagement, a framework in Flight Ops to enhance the visibility of changeefforts, and to enable tracking and reporting. This position is aConsultant-type role which will focus primarily on Internal Consulting. ·TheCo‑op will work at Delta's World Headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia. This is a paid position, including additional privileges such as standby travel anywherein the Delta system while off duty. ·Theteam currently operates on a hybrid schedule (i.e., in-person for 4 days oncampus with one day each week working virtually). ·TheCo‑op will have exposure to other departments within Flight Operations,including but not limited to: Flight Training, Flight Standards, FlyingOperations, Line Operations, Crew Resources & Scheduling, Pilot Hiring& Development, and Simulator Support…in order to learn about FlightOperations, the industry and gain valuable life experience. ·Theposition requires three alternating semesters of full-time work at Delta withfull-time study (1 semester will be summer). ·TheCo‑op will have exposure … Note : This position does not include a housing stipend. Co-opKey Responsibilities Lead end-to-end ideation efforts, translating loosely defined stakeholder challenges intoclearly scoped problem statements and solution hypotheses. Lead cross‑functional coordination to ensure solutions are effectively implemented within operational environments. Participate in team activities that aim to holistically develop Co‑ops. Work with stakeholders in a consultant type role. Partner with multiple divisional stakeholders to define process improvement opportunities, assist with development and maturation of recommended solutions. Reinforce Delta’s global innovation initiative through applications of creative design concepts to evolve stakeholder approaches to problem and solution design. Develop and implement feedback analysis using basic survey and statistics methodologies. Assist project leaders on technology programs with external vendors and Information Technology teams to identify and troubleshoot issues, develop solutions, and implement resolutions in a timely manner to minimize impact to the operation. Primary software utilized: Power BI, Excel, Smartsheet. What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications) The Co‑opposition requires a candidate to be enrolled as an undergraduate(sophomore or above) that has successfully completed a minimum of 30 semester hours. Must have a minimum 2.5 GPA and be able to maintain the minimum GPA. Working as a Co‑op does not guarantee a full‑time opportunity upon graduation. This position is intended to provide you with educational and professional work experience to prepare you for the workforce. This position requires you to work for 3 alternating semesters. You cannot actively take any courses (inclusive of online or in‑person) and work as a Co‑op at the same time, which may delay your graduation by 1‑2 semesters. Students must be able to complete 3 alternating rotations in Atlanta, GA in line with the schedule below: Spring 2027 - 1st rotation Fall 2027 - 2nd rotation Summer 2028 - 3rd rotation Pursuing an undergraduate degree in Organizational Development, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or similar degree with applicable skills. Team player that fosters trust, open dialogue, and healthy conflict with coworkers. Strong interpersonal skills and servant leadership required to promote intentional relationships. Preferably a rising Sophomore or rising Junior (as mentioned above, you are required to work 3 terms). Ability to learn technology. Strong organizational and time management skills required. Internally motivated, curious, ready to learn, and eager to make an impact. Ability to work under tight deadlines and time constraints while being able to manage and prioritize multiple project requests concurrently. What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications) Project Management experience. Experience with business cases, process mapping, and database management. Smartsheet & Power BI experience.
