Location Stony Brook, New York Open Date June 23, 2026 Deadline October 16, 2026 at 11:59 PM Eastern Time Description The Department of Physiology and Biophysics at Stony Brook University, SUNY, is seeking applications for two state‑supported tenure‑track positions at the Assistant or Associate Professor level. The positions are primarily research‑oriented. Successful candidates will have, or be able to establish, innovative externally funded research programs. We are open to all areas of physiology and biophysics. We especially welcome candidates interested in organ physiology; molecular, cellular or tissue biophysics; advanced electrophysiology, ion channel studies or membrane biology; neurobiology; signal transduction; cancer biology. The Department and the University have state‑of‑the‑art core facilities for microscopy, functional imaging, proteomics, transcriptomics, lipidomics, flow cytometry, and high‑performance computing. We are a collegial and highly collaborative department, led by a new Chair: Prof. Diego Restrepo, Ph.D. We have close relationships with physical, engineering, medical, and life science departments throughout the university and beyond.
