Director, Global PMO
Jeppesen ForeFlight
Jeppesen ForeFlight is seeking a Director or Senior Director to lead the Global ProjectManagement Office Center of Excellence (PMO COE) within the Professional Services organization. Reporting to the Senior Vice President of Professional Services, you will define and own the standards, methodologies, tools, and governance frameworks that govern how implementation projects are planned, executed, monitored, and closed across the organization. You will partner closely with product-line Professional Services leaders who directly manage Project and Program Managers, driving enablement, development, and a robust Quality Assurance function to ensure consistent delivery quality, predictable project outcomes, and a high standard of customer experience on every engagement. The ideal candidate is a seasoned PMO leader who combines deep project management expertise with strong people leadership skills and a genuine understanding of enterprise software implementations. You are equally comfortable setting methodology direction, coaching project managers, analyzing portfolio-level delivery health, and engaging directly with customers and internal stakeholders on high-priority or complex engagements. This role is pivotal to the scalability and professionalism of Jeppesen ForeFligh's delivery organization and carries significant influence across the entire Professional Services function. Key Responsibilities Global PMO Enablement & Team Development Provide functional leadership and technical direction to the global community of Project Managers and Program Managers, who report within their respective product-focused services teams, driving consistent execution standards and a collaborative, accountable culture across geographies and time zones. Define clear performance expectations, career development frameworks, and coaching structures for the PM/PgM community, supporting the growth of project management talent at every level of the organization. Partner with product-line Professional Services leaders on capacity modeling, skills assessment, and resource planning for the PM/PgM community, providing PMO-wide visibility into workforce needs and standards without direct headcount or hiring authority. Partner with product-line Professional Services leaders, who hold direct management accountability for Project and Program Managers, to ensure effective integration between the PMO framework and each team's delivery practices, fostering shared ownership of project outcomes across the organization. Build and sustain a high-performance PMO culture grounded in delivery excellence, customer focus, continuous improvement, and professional standards consistent with the demands of enterprise aviation software. Methodology, Standards & Governance Define, own, and continuously refine the global project management methodology for Jeppesen ForeFlight Professional Services, encompassing project initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, risk management, change control, and closure. Establish and enforce governance frameworks and project health standards that provide leadership with consistent, reliable visibility into delivery status, risks, issues, and financial performance across the global portfolio. Develop and maintain a standardized library of project management tools, templates, playbooks, and artifacts including project charters, status reporting formats, cutover plans, and lessons-learned documentation to drive consistency and efficiency across the PM community. Define the criteria and processes for project escalation, ensuring that delivery risks are surfaced promptly to appropriate leadership levels and that corrective action plans are established and tracked to resolution. Lead the continuous evolution of project management practices in response to changes in product complexity, delivery model, customer expectations, and organizational scale. Quality Assurance & Process Adherence Design and stand up a Quality Assurance function within the PMO COE responsible for inspecting project and program execution against defined methodology, governance standards, and playbooks across the global portfolio. Establish QA review cadences, audit checklists, and sampling methodologies to assess PM/PgM adherence to standard processes, documentation requirements, and governance gates. Define a scoring or maturity framework for project and program health that enables consistent, objective measurement of process adherence across product-focused services teams. Partner with product-line Professional Services leaders to review QA findings, agree on corrective action plans, and track remediation of recurring process gaps to closure. Use QA insights to continuously refine PMO methodology, templates, and training, closing the loop between real-world execution and standard practices. Portfolio Visibility & Delivery Performance Maintain real-time visibility into the health of the global implementation project portfolio, providing executive leadership with accurate, timely reporting on delivery status, milestone achievement, financial performance, and customer satisfaction across all active engagements. Identify systemic delivery risks, resource bottlenecks, and recurring execution challenges across the portfolio, and drive cross-functional initiatives to address root causes. Define and track PMO performance metrics including on‑time delivery rates, project margin, schedule variance, scope change frequency, and customer satisfaction scores and hold the PM community accountable to continuous improvement against these measures. Oversee project financial management standards, ensuring that Project Managers are equipped to monitor budgets, forecast accurately, manage change orders, and protect project margin across their portfolios. Customer Engagement & Executive Escalation Serve as the executive escalation owner for high-priority, at‑risk, or strategically sensitive implementation engagements, providing decisive leadership to stabilize delivery, restore customer confidence, and drive projects to successful completion. Engage directly with senior customer stakeholders including CIOs, VP-level Operations leaders, and program sponsors on complex or strategic engagements where executive-level project management oversight is required. Ensure that the customer experience throughout the project lifecycle reflects Jeppesen ForeFlight's commitment to professionalism, transparency, and delivery quality. AI-Driven Delivery Transformation Lead the PMO's strategic initiative to embed artificial intelligence and intelligent automation into the project delivery lifecycle, identifying high-value opportunities to augment how Jeppesen ForeFlight plans, monitors, and executes implementation projects. Evaluate and pilot AI-powered tooling across key PMO functions including automated project status reporting, risk prediction and early warning, resource demand forecasting, and intelligent scheduling and drive adoption across the global PM community. Develop a structured AI transformation roadmap for the PMO, with clear use cases, success metrics, and phased adoption milestones, ensuring that AI capabilities are introduced in a way that enhances, rather than replaces, the judgment and expertise of project management professionals. Partner with Product, Engineering, and IT leadership to assess Jeppesen ForeFlight's internal tooling ecosystem and identify integration points where AI can accelerate delivery insights, reduce administrative overhead, and improve predictability across the project portfolio. Champion a culture of experimentation and continuous learning within the PM community, equipping project managers with the skills and frameworks needed to work effectively alongside AI-assisted tools and to critically evaluate AI-generated recommendations. Stay current with emerging trends in AI applications for professional services and project management, bringing informed perspectives to leadership on how evolving capabilities can be applied to sustain Jeppesen ForeFlight's competitive advantage in delivery. Cross-Functional Collaboration & Organizational Influence Partner with Professional Services product-line directors (DAP, DAO, and others) to ensure alignment between the PMO framework and the specific delivery needs of each product area. Collaborate with the pre-sales and scoping function to ensure that project plans, resource models, and milestone structures established during the sales cycle are realistic, well-documented, and set up for successful handoff to delivery. Work with Finance and Operations to align PMO reporting and project financial management practices with organizational revenue recognition, forecasting, and billing requirements. Contribute to the broader Professional Services strategy, including delivery model design, tooling investment decisions, and organizational development initiatives. Represent the PMO in cross-functional leadership forums, bringing a delivery-grounded perspective to decisions that affect project execution, resource capacity, or customer outcomes. Basic Qualifications 12 or more years of progressive experience in project management, program management, or PMO leadership within enterprise software or technology professional services, with at least 5 years in a senior PMO leadership role setting standards for and enabling project management teams in a matrixed organization. Demonstrated experience building or significantly maturing a global PMO function, including the design and implementation of delivery methodology, governance frameworks, and portfolio reporting capabilities. Experience designing, implementing, or leading a Quality Assurance, audit, or governance-inspection function within a PMO or professional services delivery organization, including defining adherence criteria, conducting process audits, and driving corrective action plans. Proven ability to influence, coach, and elevate a geographically distributed community of project management professionals in a matrixed organization, without direct reporting authority, including experience building career development frameworks and shaping team culture across multiple regions. Deep expertise in enterprise software implementation project management, including proficiency in project planning, risk management, change control, financial management, and stakeholder communication for complex, multi-phase engagements. Strong analytical and operational skills, with the ability to synthesize portfolio-level delivery data into clear executive insights and drive data-informed decisions. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to engage credibly with senior customer stakeholders and internal executive leadership on project status, risk, and resolution strategies. PMP certification or equivalent professional project management credential. Preferred Qualifications Experience in the aviation, aerospace, or flight operations software industry; familiarity with the operational environments and regulatory context in which Jeppesen ForeFlight's customers operate is a strong advantage. Experience implementing or optimizing a Professional Services Automation (PSA) platform (e.g., Rocketlane, Certinia/FinancialForce, Salesforce, Kantata, or similar) as part of a PMO maturity initiative. Program Management Professional (PgMP) certification or demonstrated experience managing complex, multi-workstream programs involving cross-functional teams and executive-level governance. Familiarity with Agile and hybrid delivery methodologies and experience adapting traditional project management frameworks to accommodate iterative software implementation approaches. Experience designing and delivering project management training, onboarding programs, or PM competency frameworks for large teams.
