Director of Operations — Landscape Construction & Fulfillment

El Paso Artificial Grass Supply is a high-volume landscape renovation and artificial grass company. We deliver artificial grass installations, concrete, privacy fences, pergolas, and complete backyard transformations. We also operate a product sales and fulfillment business.

We’re hiring a Director of Operations to lead our project managers, installation operations, and product fulfillment. You’ll report to the owners and take responsibility for keeping projects moving, protecting profitability, collecting payments, and holding the team accountable.

Our project managers manage individual projects. You’ll manage the department.

The Environment

This is a fast-paced operation with multiple projects, crews, schedules, customer commitments, and financial details moving at once. It requires strong organization, decisive leadership, and consistent follow-through.

Accountability is high, performance is visible, and ownership of results is expected. You’ll be expected to identify problems early, make decisions, and ensure commitments are completed.

We run through documented processes, clear responsibilities, and a central business operating system. You must be comfortable following established systems, holding others to them, and improving them through a structured process.

We are also an AI-forward company . You’ll be expected to use our existing systems and AI-assisted tools daily, help integrate them into department workflows, and verify the information you use to make decisions.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily project-manager huddles to establish priorities, resolve obstacles, and confirm follow-through.
• Drive projects from the sales handoff through planning, scheduling, installation, customer acceptance, and final payment.
• Hold project managers accountable for accurate system updates, customer communication, expense documentation, and collections.
• Review job costs and profitability; address overruns, missing receipts, and unexplained transactions.
• Oversee staffing, crew capacity, and material readiness across the department, ensuring project managers coordinate job-level scheduling and execution.
• Handle customer and contractor escalations.
• Oversee warehouse operations and product fulfillment.
• Establish accountability for vehicle, trailer, equipment, and tool maintenance.
• Reduce rework and preventable callbacks while maintaining quality and safety standards.
• Lead weekly training and Kaizen meetings, turning recurring problems into lasting improvements.
• Use dashboards and AI-assisted tools to identify stalled projects, missing information, financial concerns, and other operational risks.
• Train and hold the team accountable for using company systems consistently.
• Keep ownership informed through concise updates on results, issues, and corrective actions.

What Success Looks Like

Projects are completed, paid, and profitable. Customers receive quality work. Managers follow through. Expenses are documented. The system accurately reflects what is happening in the field. Problems are identified and resolved without the owners having to chase updates or direct daily execution.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience leading teams and managing managers or supervisors.
• Experience overseeing multiple concurrent projects or a high-volume operation with competing priorities.
• Working knowledge of job costing, budgets, gross margin, expense controls, and collections.
• Strong organization, sound judgment, and consistent follow-through.
• Ability to hold people accountable while building a capable, dependable team.
• Comfort working within documented processes, clear performance expectations, and regular reporting.
• Confidence using business software, spreadsheets, dashboards, and AI tools—and helping others adopt them.
• Ability to work on-site in El Paso and visit job sites as needed.

Experience in landscape construction, remodeling, restoration, construction, or a related service business is preferred. Landscape construction experience is not required.

Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous-improvement experience is a plus. Spanish is strongly preferred, but not required.

Compensation

$75,000–$85,000 annual salary , depending on experience.
