Registered Nurse - Operating Room

Job Description

Job Summary:
Provides specialized nursing care in the Operating Room, ensuring patient safety and adherence to surgical protocols. Oversees perioperative activities and collaborates with surgical team members to deliver quality patient outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate preoperative and intraoperative patient care to ensure safety and efficiency.
• Supervise and support the surgical team, including scrub and circulating nurses.
• Prepare operating rooms by ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are available and properly sterilized.
• Monitor patient vital signs and responses throughout procedures, reporting any abnormalities.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement care plans.
• Provide patient education and support pre- and post-operation to promote recovery and understanding.

Qualifications:

• Hold a valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the practicing state.
• Demonstrate experience in perioperative or operating room nursing preferred.
• Possess Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved vendor.
• Exhibit strong critical thinking and teamwork skills necessary for surgical environments.
• Show proficiency in surgical asepsis and sterilization procedures.
