Job Title: Cleanroom Medical Device Assembler – Catheters (2nd Shift) Job Description

This role focuses on building complex catheter assemblies and subassemblies in a cleanroom environment, supporting new product development for medical devices. You will follow detailed work instructions and production drawings to perform full catheter builds, work under a microscope with very small components, and partner closely with technicians to bring new products to life. The position requires a high-level operator with extensive catheter assembly experience who can perform precise, documented work from initial build through final packaging.

• Read and interpret work instructions, work orders, and production drawings to complete catheter assemblies, subassemblies, and full catheter builds.
• Perform medical device assembly work in a cleanroom environment, adhering to all cleanliness and contamination control standards.
• Build catheter assemblies and guidewire-related components using small hand tools and specialized assembly techniques.
• Work under a microscope to assemble and inspect very small parts with a high degree of accuracy and care.
• Complete other related subassemblies as required to support full catheter builds and new product development activities.
• Conduct thorough visual inspections of components and finished catheter assemblies to ensure quality and compliance with specifications.
• Document all work accurately in travelers, QMS (Quality Management System) or ERP systems, ensuring traceability and compliance.
• Perform final packaging of catheters, following established procedures and documentation requirements.
• Collaborate directly with technicians and other team members in a new product development area to support prototype and new product builds.
• Maintain cleanroom protocols at all times, including appropriate handling of materials, tools, and equipment.
• Use small hand tools and microscope assembly techniques safely and effectively to complete detailed medical device assembly tasks.
• Follow all established manufacturing, quality, and safety procedures while meeting production goals and timelines.

• 3–6+ years of catheter building and assembly experience in the medical device industry.
• Proven experience completing full catheter builds, including subassemblies and final assembly in a cleanroom environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills to read work orders, follow production drawings, and receive instructions clearly.
• Ability to accurately document work in travelers, QMS systems, or ERP systems.
• Excellent hand dexterity and fine motor skills, including the ability to work with very small pieces, both under a microscope and without magnification.
• Comfort and experience working in a cleanroom environment with strict procedural and cleanliness requirements.
• Ability to perform visual inspection of small, detailed components and assemblies with a high level of attention to detail.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent.

• Experience with medical device assembly, particularly catheter and guidewire assemblies.
• Hands-on experience using microscopes for precision assembly and inspection.
• Proficiency with small hand tools for detailed assembly work.
• Familiarity with documentation practices in regulated environments, including travelers and electronic QMS/ERP systems.
• Patience, diligence, and strong focus when working with intricate, small-scale components.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with technicians and cross-functional teams in a new product development setting.

The role is based in a clean, state-of-the-art medical device manufacturing facility with a dedicated cleanroom for catheter assembly and microscope work. The workplace features a modern break room and a culture that brings people together through events, team lunches, culturally specific lunches, BBQs, and other gatherings. This is a 2nd shift position with hours from Monday through Thursday, 3:30 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. The schedule includes a 30-minute paid break, a 30-minute unpaid lunch, and an additional paid break period. You will work in cleanroom attire appropriate for medical device assembly while using microscopes, small hand tools, and other specialized equipment in a well-organized, collaborative environment.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Minneapolis, MN.

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $27.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
