Medical Sewer / Assembly OperatorThis role supports daily operations as a key member of the assembly team, focusing on the final assembly of medical devices used in clinical trials and research and development builds. You will sew and assemble valves and related components in a cleanroom environment, directly contributing to critical clinical milestones and the quality of life-changing products. The position offers significant opportunity for growth as you become cross-trained across multiple production-related systems and procedures.ResponsibilitiesPerform final assembly of medical devices, including sewing and assembling valves and tissue-based components in a cleanroom environment.Support operations builds of valves for clinical trials and research and development activities.Read, comprehend, and consistently follow detailed written procedures and work instructions, as well as verbal guidance from supervisors and team leads.Use microscopes and other assembly tools to handle and maneuver small components and parts with precision and care.Apply good manufacturing practices (GMP) at all times to ensure product quality and regulatory compliance.Utilize electronic data collection systems and computer software packages to record production data and maintain accurate documentation.Ensure all job documentation related to operations and functions is accurate, complete, and kept up to date.Prioritize work effectively by determining the sequencing and timing of different tasks based on precedence and importance.Maintain acute awareness of finished product quality and immediately report or address any defects or inconsistencies.Follow gowning procedures correctly when entering and exiting cleanrooms to maintain sterile and controlled conditions.Help ensure cleanrooms meet standards by following appropriate cleaning procedures and maintaining a tidy, organized work area.Work independently and stay focused with minimal supervision while meeting productivity and quality expectations.Collaborate with colleagues, share information, and contribute to a positive team environment.Adapt to an evolving environment and take on a broad range of responsibilities as production needs change.Approach daily activities with a strong sense of urgency and ownership to meet production schedules and clinical timelines.Essential SkillsExperience in medical device manufacturing, ideally 3–5 years working in a cleanroom environment with production-related systems and procedures.Ability to read, comprehend, and follow detailed written procedures and understand and follow verbal instructions.Ability to be cross-trained, certified, and perform all functions of the assembly position.Knowledge of basic math functions, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, to support measurements and documentation.Knowledge of and ability to follow good manufacturing practices (GMP).Understanding of and ability to utilize electronic data collection systems and computer software packages.Ability to prioritize work by determining sequencing and timing of tasks based on precedence and importance.Ability to handle and maneuver very small components and parts with care and precision.Acute awareness of finished product quality and attention to detail.Ability to work independently and remain focused with minimal supervision.Ability to use microscopes for detailed assembly and inspection work.Ability to follow gowning procedures when entering and exiting cleanrooms.Good hand dexterity and eye-hand coordination, especially for sewing and fine assembly tasks.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with medical device assembly involving valves, tissues, or similar components.Comfort working with production-related systems, processes, and documentation in regulated manufacturing settings.Adaptability to an evolving environment with a broad range of responsibilities.Strong sense of urgency and a driven, results-oriented mindset.Good interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with others.Team-oriented attitude and willingness to support colleagues and shared goals.Why Work Here?You join a mission-driven organization where your work directly supports critical clinical trials and innovative medical technologies. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
