Unit Secretary

Unit Secretary We are seeking a Unit Secretary, also referred to as a Unit Clerk, Clinical Unit Secretary or Medical Unit Secretary. A Unit Secretary provides indirect patient care by managing departmental communications, organizing records, transcribing physician orders when needed, and ensuring charts, logs, and electronic records are accurate and complete. They support the Telemetry Unit by coordinating with physicians and departments, ordering supplies, restocking rooms after transfers or discharges, and assisting nursing staff with non-clinical tasks. Responsibilities Manage departmental communications and coordinate between nursing staff, physicians, and patients Transcribe physician orders (in the absence of CPOE/EMR) with proper notation and signature by nursing staff Prepare, compile, and maintain patient charts, logs, and unit documentation Order and restock supplies and forms for the unit Accurately enter data into hospital computer systems, supporting nursing staff with non-clinical administrative tasks Qualifications Current Certified Nursing Assistant certificate upon hire, required Current BLS within 30 days of hire and maintain current Possesses knowledge of Medical Terminology Minimum six months' previous experience in an acute care hospital or physician's office preferred Benefits Health, dental, and vision insurance options Paid vacation, sick time and holidays Bereavement leave, FMLA and other leave options Employer 401K options Tuition reimbursement options Life, disability, and other insurance options Many other amazing benefits Employment Status Full Time Shift Days Equal Employment Opportunity Company is an equal employment opportunity employer.
