About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 14 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours (19:00 - 07:00) Experience: Minimum 1 year preferred; first timers accepted License: GA or Compact license required Certifications: BLS Must-Have: - General skills in a medical surgical unit with remote telemetry and potential medical surgical diagnoses - Experience with patient ratios of 1:6 - Proficiency in Epic charting system Description: Minimum experience required is 1 year. First timers are accepted. Patient population ranges from adolescents to geriatrics. Staffing ratio is 1 nurse for every 6 patients. The unit has a capacity of 38 beds with an average daily census of 33. Floating to other similar units may be required as needed. Weekends are every other weekend unless specified otherwise. The traveler is expected to work one major holiday if it falls within the assignment period. If two major holidays fall during the assignment period, the traveler is expected to work both. Three major holidays may require working two of them. Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year’s Eve/New Year’s Day. Full compliance is required to start on time. Candidates must complete onboarding items within a specific timeframe. The unit offers interdisciplinary support, including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, and more. Special procedures and patient diagnoses may vary. Travelers should maintain compliance with all onboarding requirements as specified.
