Security Technician - Electronic Security Systems- Ft. Sam Houston, TX

Job Summary Electronic Security Systems Technician – supports federal facilities in Fort Sam Houston / Camp Bullis, San Antonio, TX. Responsibilities include maintenance, installation, programming, and testing of electronic security systems primarily using Lenel, Vindicator, and Milestone platforms. Location & Schedule Base: Fort Sam Houston / Camp Bullis (primary work at Fort Sam Houston); may support other nearby bases occasionally. Schedule: Day shift (approximately 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., Monday – Friday). Pay Range: $28.00 – $38.00 per hour, negotiable based on experience. Relocation assistance may be available. Benefits Eligible for benefits from the first day of employment 3 weeks paid vacation, 5 sick days, 3 floating holidays, and 10 standard holidays per year (6.5 weeks total) 10‑20% travel, primarily local Responsibilities Conduct maintenance and service of existing Electronic Security Systems (ESS) including access controls, intrusion detection, and camera systems (Lenel, Vindicator, Milestone). Install security devices and infrastructure per installation plans, following the National Electrical Code, company and customer guidelines. Assist with security system programming and setup. Perform testing to ensure proper operation after installation or repairs, including system testing at signal‑receiving centers. Coordinate installations with police/fire departments and manage notification records for emergency calls. Provide end‑user training. Maintain safety, protect property, and remove installation debris. Perform other duties as required. Required Qualifications Experience installing, inspecting, troubleshooting, and repairing commercial/industrial integrated electronic security systems (low‑voltage intrusion, access control, CCTV, digital recording). Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, software/systems programs, schematics, and product manuals. Strong oral and written communication skills with cooperative teamwork. Proficient with hand and power tools; capable of mounting and securing equipment. Ability to climb ladders and work at heights. Work well independently and as part of a team; high school diploma or equivalent. Department of Defense Secret clearance (or one active within the last two years). Preferred Qualifications Proficiency with Lenel, Vindicator, or Linx Predator Elite platforms. Technical skill with fiber and network infrastructure. Experience with commercial/industrial camera systems, preferably Lenel, Advantor, and related systems. Preferred Education Lenel certification.
