Energy Project Finance Associate

Job Overview A law firm seeks a mid-level project finance attorney with debt and tax equity experience to join their team in San Diego, CA, or any of their domestic offices. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience in the energy industry, focusing on renewable energy projects. Duties Represent clients in the development, acquisition, and financing of renewable energy projects. Draft and negotiate debt term sheets, loan agreements, and security documents. Draft and negotiate equity capital contribution agreements and partnership agreements. Manage junior associates and oversee transaction processes. Communicate directly with clients and third-party advisors. Requirements 3-5 years of experience in the energy industry at a large law firm or comparable in-house counsel role. Excellent oral communication, writing, research, and analytical skills. Ability to manage projects and work effectively as part of a team. Strong academic credentials from a top-tier law school. Admitted to and in good standing with the state bar in which they reside. Education Juris Doctor from a top-tier law school. Certifications Member in good standing with the state bar. Skills Strong familiarity with project finance work, particularly in debt and tax equity. Experience with drafting and negotiating various legal documents related to energy projects.
