General Production Worker

Job Title: Entry Level Production Worker

Shift: 10pm-6:30am M-F

Pay: $19.27/hr (paid weekly)

Job Description

The General Production Worker supports food manufacturing operations by producing and packaging products according to established specifications and quality standards. This role follows recipes and written instructions, maintains a clean and sanitary work area, operates equipment safely and efficiently, and works collaboratively within a team under Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), safety, and company guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Produce and package products in accordance with established specifications and quality standards.

• Read, understand, and follow recipes, written instructions, and production procedures accurately.

• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work area in compliance with food safety and GMP requirements.

• Operate production and packaging equipment safely and efficiently, following all safety protocols.

• Work effectively in a fast-paced team environment within a food manufacturing facility.

• Identify potential defects or irregularities in products and promptly bring issues to the attention of appropriate personnel.

• Perform visual inspection and quality checks on products during and after production.

• Handle general labor tasks such as lifting, moving, and stacking materials and finished goods as needed.

• Pack, label, and prepare products for shipment or further processing according to guidelines.

• Adapt to working in various departments and changing roles as operational needs require.

• Follow all company policies, GMP standards, and safety guidelines consistently.

• Perform other related tasks and duties as assigned to support production and packaging operations.

Essential Skills

• Experience working in production, packaging, or general labor roles in a fast-paced environment, preferably within a food manufacturing facility.

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks throughout the shift.

• Ability to understand and follow recipes, written instructions, and standard operating procedures.

• Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and safe food handling principles.

• Ability to perform product inspection and identify potential defects or quality issues.

• Strong teamwork skills and ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment.

• Ability to operate production and packaging equipment safely after training.

• Flexibility to work in various departments and adapt to changing roles as needed.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Prior experience in a food manufacturing or warehouse environment is beneficial.

• Familiarity with basic food safety and sanitation practices.

• Comfort working in a fast-paced setting with changing priorities.

• Reliability and strong attention to detail in following procedures and quality standards.

• Willingness to learn new tasks and cross-train across different production areas.

Work Environment

The role is based in a large, clean warehouse environment dedicated to food manufacturing, specifically gummy products that create a pleasant fruity aroma. The temperature is generally comfortable—not too cold and not too hot—and noise levels can vary, becoming loud in certain areas due to production equipment. Team members work on or around production and packaging machinery and are expected to follow all safety and GMP guidelines. Attire should be appropriate for a manufacturing setting, with any required protective or sanitary gear worn in accordance with food safety and company standards.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Santa Cruz, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.27 - $19.27/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
