At Cafe Gratitude, we serve innovative plant-based cuisine, thoughtfully crafted with organic, locally sourced ingredients. THE POSITION:
We are looking for a part-time Host. Approximately 3 shifts per week, 4 - 5 hour shifts.
JOB DUTIES:
- Taking reservations and manage the wait list
- Seating guests in order of arrival, evenly distributing tables to server sections
- Listening and responding to voicemail messages
- Greeting guests in a friendly and professional manner
- Answering the phone and taking to go orders
- Memorizing the menu and it's ingredients
- Taking to-go orders and enter into the POS
- Organize all to go orders for efficient and timely pick up
- Accurately handle cash and credit card transactions
- Following all steps of service, including department checklists for opening and closing duties
- Maintaining cleanliness and restaurant appearance standards; including, but not limited to wiping down menus, setting up tables, rearrange dining area when needed
- Keeping host station clean and organized
AVAILABILITY & EXPERIENCE : Weekend availability is a must. Previous experience as a host, barista, or in a front desk role is preferred.
