Job Summary:

The Aircraft Mechanic III inspects airframes, engines, and systems to ensure strict compliance with safety rules and maintenance requirements.

Minimum Requirements and Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be a US citizen with a valid driver's license.
• Must have a Top Secret clearance.
• Must have a valid passport.
• Minimum 3-7 years of hands-on aviation maintenance or quality assurance experience on P-8 aircraft series or equivalent.
• FAA Airframe & Powerplant license or military equivalent programs required.
• Ability to define and solve problems.

Responsibilities:

• Examines aircraft frames, flight controls, engines, hydraulics, and avionic systems for quality and safety conformance.
• Enforces guidelines under the Naval Aviation Maintenance Program(NAMP) or FAA regulations.
• Reviews maintenance logs, sign off on airworthiness, and reject parts or work that fail specifications.
• Conducts ongoing evaluations of work centers, tools, safety gear, and technical libraries.
• Files quality deficiency, hazardous material, and mishap reports.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions:

The working conditions will mostly be in a high-noise environment.

Physical Requirements:

This position must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. as well as have the ability to sit or stand for long periods of time. Physical requirements of the position may also include, but are not limited to, bending, twisting, and lifting.
