Reporting to the Senior Director of Club Operations, the Director of Club Operations (COD) leads the day-to-day operations for all Clubs within the COD's management portfolio. The COD will champion the pursuit of Club Excellence for the Clubs within the COD's management portfolio by leading the program strategy, safety implementation, grant administration, budget facilitation, and personnel management for the COD's assigned Clubs.

The COD oversees four community-based Clubs and two school-based Clubs. This is subject to change based on organizational and operational needs.

Primary Responsibilities

The Club Operations director must be able to perform the essential duties of the role, with or without accommodations:

• Support the Senior Director of Club Operations (Sr. COD) with the Club charter process and regular club visits to observe programming and assess safety and risk management while ensuring the Clubs are inclusive environments for Club members, Club families and Club staff.
• Serve as point of escalation and feedback for incidents within the assigned Clubs under the COD's direct supervision. When necessary, elevate critical incidents such as Club member suspension decisions and emergency response events to the Sr. COD.
• Support ratio and facilitate programming when administrative staffing support is needed at any Club that is under the COD's direct supervision to maintain safety BGCA and BGCMD policies and procedures.
• Provide leadership and strategic oversight for Club Experience and Average Daily Attendance (ADA) growth for the assigned Clubs under the COD's direct supervision.
• Oversee the implementation and delivery of club operations, programs, services, and activities that facilitate achievement of youth development outcomes.
• Oversee the identification and evaluation of opportunities to improve programming effectiveness based on participation and achievement of stated goals utilizing YPQI and other key data measures.
• Collaborate with Impact to ensure Social-Emotional learning principles are evident throughout the Club Experience and cultivate the five (5) key elements for positive youth development throughout the assigned Clubs under the COD's direct supervision.
• Ensure all grant requirements, related evaluations and mandatory reports are comprehensively met in a timely manner.
• Monitor program impact through key data collection initiatives such as Kid Perception Data and NYOI.
• Support the community outreach initiatives for each of the assigned Clubs under the COD's direct supervision to cultivate community-wide programmatic engagement and partnerships.
• Lead in developing and cultivating partnerships within community organizations and regional school systems to advance programs and develop opportunities for new club sites or expansion of existing sites.
• Ensure that programs are developmentally safe, and culturally inclusive for all Club members.
• Collaborate with local partners to maximize the incorporation of social emotional academic learning into core programming.
• Support the assigned Clubs under the COD's direct supervision with participating in organization-wide special events.
• Demonstrate flexibility by substituting at Club or participating in organization-wide events across the Denver Metro area.
• Additional organization-wide projects as assigned.

• Oversee the Club Directors from the assigned Clubs under the COD's direct supervision, and the adjacent indirect reports, by providing support, coaching, feedback, supervision, and guidance to effectively manage high performing teams.
• Create a culture in alignment with BGCMD's mission and vision in an effort to cultivate a positive work environment where people do their best work.
• Ensure all employees, volunteers, and other individuals follow Club protocol and procedures.
• Lead in the hiring and onboarding of management staff.
• Promote strong employee engagement and commitment to career pathways and opportunities.
• Assist in the development and implementation of standard professional development opportunities and expectations for staff.

• Promote fiscal prudence across the safety, athletics program and the assigned Club under the direct supervision of the COD and assist in budget development.
• Monitor and report variances in revenues and expenditures.
• Lead in the identification of process / operational efficiencies to drive down expenses.
• Ensure the assigned Clubs under the direct supervision of the Sr. COD collect fees and distribute scholarships in alignment with BGCMD objectives.
• Meet or exceed all grant requirements and deadlines for grants restricted to school-based clubs, including, but not limited to all government grants.
• Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher learning, human or social services, or a related field of study. Equivalent experience or combination of education and experience directly serving youth in a similar role will be considered.
• Experienced people leader with at least three years of multi-site managerial experience.
• Strong understanding of operational leadership with at least three years of developing strategic plans and organizational goals that cascade KPIs across a multi-site-level infrastructure.
• Demonstrated ability to organize, direct, and coordinate operations, personnel management, and budget management.
• Exceptional communication skills, both verbally and written; ability to influence and achieve results through leadership. Strong critical thinking skills; spanning strategic capabilities to execution.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and technologically adept.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and develop solutions to problems with limited supervision.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with various internal and external stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity and commitment to the mission, vision, and values of Boys & Girls Clubs.
• Experience working with youth development, educational environments, or non-profit organizations.
• Master's Degree from accredited institution of higher learning.

Job Requirements

• Candidates must be able to pass a criminal background and fingerprint check, a driving records investigation, and reference checks.
• Maintain active CPR & First Aid certification.
• The successful candidate will primarily work indoors. Accordingly, the ability to use a variety of equipment including janitorial and office equipment is required. The job requires the ability to stand for extended periods, kneel, reach, bend, and lift objects weighing in excess of 25lbs. Outdoor work and moderate physically demanding activities may be required on occasion. The ability to read and write is necessary to complete reports, properly document programs, and organizational data.
• A valid driver's license and ability to be insured under the company's insurance policy is also a requirement.
