About the Position

The nurse will work on a 22-bed adult MS Oncology unit. The contract length is for 13 weeks with a possibility of extension. Nurses are expected to work weekdays, every other weekend, and holidays as needed. The patient-to-nurse ratio will be 6:1. Experience with IV starts, wound care, and the administration of blood products is required. The nurse will float between Medical Surgical and PCU units as required. The daily census for the unit is typically around 22 patients. Patient diagnoses include surgeries, wounds, sepsis, pneumonia, diabetes, and more. The role involves interdisciplinary support including physical therapy and respiratory services. Travel experience is preferred. Preferred candidates will have experience charting in Meditech. Expect to work some weekends and holidays in rotation with the staff. Professional conduct is necessary to ensure compliance with facility policies. Candidates must feel comfortable with floating between units in accordance with facility policies. Nurses will have access to support services as necessary during their shifts.
