About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Step Down Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years required. License: Valid state nursing license required. Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: ICU experience, travel experience preferred, must be comfortable with floating across units. Description: Candidates must have ICU experience. Travelers will be floated to ICU as needed. Floating required across step-down, ICU, and medical-surgical units. Patient-to-nurse ratio is 1:4 to 5. Valid nursing license required at the time of submission. ACLS certification is required. BLS certification is required. NIHSS certification is required. Experience preferred with the charting system. Prefer candidates with charge experience. Ideal candidates will have experience in trauma level I or II settings. Daily patient census averages around 17. The unit has 21 beds with non-titrating drips. Special procedures include post-catheterization and peritoneal dialysis. Equipment used includes BiPAP, Liberty PD machines, and telemetry monitors. Expect to work some holidays and weekends in rotation with staff. Strong communication and teamwork skills are essential. Candidates should have experience in managing ports, blood product administration, and cardiac telemetry. Knowledge in wound care and advanced respiratory support is preferred. Assisting with IV therapy and patient management for various medical conditions is required. Familiarity with hemodialysis procedures is beneficial. Important to provide safe and effective nursing care in a fast-paced environment. Candidates should be adaptable and ready to support various patient needs. Experience managing complex patient cases is preferred.
