About the Position

The nurse will work on a 29-bed general surgical and orthopedic unit with medical overflow. The role requires strong skills in IV start and management, as well as knowledge of telemetry monitoring. Nurses will float to the PCU unit as needed, working with a range of patient diagnoses including surgical and orthopedic cases. Expected patient ratios are 6 per nurse during the night shift. The facility supports interdisciplinary care, including physical therapy and respiratory services. Travel experience is preferred, but not mandatory. Nurses should be comfortable floating within the hospital and have the ability to adapt to different environments. Work may include weekends and holidays as needed, following the staffing schedule. Specialized equipment and patient care activities include managing chest tubes, feeding tubes, and wound vacs. Should have the ability to manage non-invasive airway techniques and other advanced nursing skills. Candidates should demonstrate solid assessment skills and the ability to respond to rapid changes in patient conditions.
