Estimator
Aegis Worldwide
Aegis is partnered with a fourth-generation, family-owned manufacturer that has been in business for over 100 years and specializes in custom steel tanks and engineered industrial equipment. They are looking to add a Tank Estimator to support their custom, engineered-to-order tank business.
This is a technical, customer-facing role combining estimating with sales. Youll work with customers to understand their applications, review drawings and specifications, and develop custom quotes from the ground up.
Responsibilities :
- Manage 5–10+ active quoting opportunities at a time
- Review drawings, dimensions, materials, fabrication requirements, and customer specifications
- Build technical estimates and quotes for custom-fabricated tanks
- Work directly with customers to gather missing information and understand their applications
- Follow up on existing and inbound opportunities and develop customer relationships
- Work with internal engineering/manufacturing teams to determine project requirements
- Occasionally visit customers throughout Northern Illinois and Southern Wisconsin
Requirements :
- 2+ years of technical sales, estimating, or project-based manufacturing experience
- Ability to read technical drawings and specifications
- Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of custom-fabricated products
- Customer-facing experience with strong communication skills
- Metal fabrication, welding, tanks, or pressure vessel experience is a plus
- ASME, API, UL, or similar code knowledge is a plus
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys the technical side of manufacturing but also wants to build customer relationships and grow into sales.
